Store-exclusive bags on the rise

In May, Gucci introduced the exclusive edition Shanghai Dragon bag to mark the opening of its flagship store in Shanghai Golden Eagle. The bag, paying tribute to ancient Chinese drawing arts and mythical twin Dragons, released in a limited edition of 200 pieces, retailing at RMB7,490.

This was followed by another Gucci Group brand Bottega Veneta, which launched a limited edition bag named the Shanghai Duette in copper ostrich, to celebrate the opening of its seventh store in China, in the same Shanghai shopping mall where Gucci opened its flagship.

The latest to create a store-exclusive line was Louis Vuitton, with its new versions of the iconic Neverfull bag paying tribute to resort cities such as Deauville (France), Kämpen (Netherlands), Porto Cervo (Italy) and Puerto Banus (Spain), whose names are stamped on the monogram canvas. The bags are exclusively sold at Louis Vuitton stores in the corresponding resort cities.
